Base Coaches - Contact w/ Base Runners
Written by Jim Keating
Monday, 28 April 2008

A base coach is not allowed to "physically assist" a runner either advancing or retreating to first or third base.  This could be as much as pulling a kid onto his feet so he can run, or as small as tapping him on the shoulder when it is time to run.  It is the umpire's judgement whether a "physical assist" has occurred and the penalty is the runner is out.  The text of this rule is in the green book under "the runner".  It is important to educate coaches, players, and umpires about this rule beginning in AA.  A congratulatory high five or slap on the back after a nice hit is not a "physical assist", but I have unfortunately had one of my runners declared out for that a few years ago.  The best practice is to stick to verbal expressions or signs when coaching first and third.

Keep Our Fields Clean
Written by Administrator
Monday, 17 March 2008

Please leave our fields at as clean as they were when you arrived, if not cleaner.  All water bottles, snack wrappers, etc... must be disposed of properly. Dugouts are already full of empty drink bottles and other trash. Find a trash can.

If you are on a field without trash receptacles, carry your trash out with you.

If trash receptacles at CP are full, please empty them into the dumpster.
